Beautiful Bear Gap Road—one of Cocoa’s favorite roads to travel at any time of the year. She loves it in the fall with the leaves falling down all around her. She loves it in the spring when the hardwoods are beginning to “leaf out,” and she loves it in the summer when the forest is dense and deep with Hemlock greens. Finally, she loves it after a fresh snow fall in the dead of winter when all that surrounds her is the hush of the winter woods and the bouncing rhythm of a passing squirrel.
Black Mountain State Park was intensely beautiful last weekend as approaching storm clouds gathered.
Rain fell and fog drifted over the mountain range.
Our favorite deck was shrouded in mist and fog. The mountains that are usually so visible could not be seen at all. It was as if they were not really there at all!
