Honeysuckle always makes me think of summer and a time when I was young. My friends and I would spend hours beneath the honeysuckle vine that grew in my parent’s backyard talking about all kinds of things but mostly discussing what we were going to do when we grew up. I wanted to be a ballerina (smile) and that didn’t happen!

Another summer favorite are the thistles that grow along country roadways. I also love farm gates and approaching storms! All three of these things are in this photo.

And what would summer be like without hay bales. For years, I have tried to photograph fields with bales in them, and I’ve never come up with a solution to keep them from looking very tiny in very large fields. These—lined up alongside a Georgia red clay side road—work perfectly together!

Finally, at the end of this mixed bag of a post are these guys, which made me laugh! I can’t understand Chip and his obsessive love for cows.  These guys actually did kind of scare the “fool” out of me. I mean, does anyone in this group look happy about having me taking his or her photo? Nope, not a single cow! I may actually print this one!
