This little goat at Carl Sandburg’s former home loved all the attention. Cameras clicked away as she posed for us.

Then one of the volunteers came out with some refreshment—milk! All of the goats at the Sandburg house are descendants of Mrs. Sandburg’s original herds. She kept meticulous records. So the National Park Service continues to replenish the present herd. They were just too sweet and pretty much pets.

This little girl seemed to know exactly what to do. This is a great place for adults and children to have a hands-on experience with farm animals.

After all the ruckus and playing with the visitors, this momma and her two babies were ready for a nap.
