What are hollow trees for? They’re for hiding, for sheltering  during storms, and for . . . Yikes! The fact is: there are lots of sniffs in a tree trunk that has been abandoned by some wayward animal. At first, I thought Chip was so cute checking out the inside of this one until I remembered that snakes love dark places!

“Chipley, get out of there!” I shouted. At first he did not listen but when he emerged, he was smiling from ear-to-ear. That was a great adventure.
