Marietta becomes “decked” out in patriotic colors on Memorial Day in May and stays that way until after Labor Day at the first of September. I really enjoy living in that city because its residents are always decorating for something fun!
Last week everyone got ready for July 4th. One day at lunch when I was driving back to work, IÂ parked the car and got out and walked down a neighborhood street to photograph houses. I could have gone down ten streets and come up with the same result, especially in the historic district.

“Happy Summer!” I wish I had a banner like that for the cottage in Toccoa.
Lots of draping flag banners.
And everyone has an American flag—
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
