We're heading into January, and it looks and feels like it in Georgia. This is the time of the year when I begin to look through all my spring photos and count the days when the woods begin to turn green again!
One of my favorite things to do is to go for a drive in the mountains on the day after Christmas. Neel's Gap always calls to me after the first of the year, but after Christmas, I love to drive up to North Carolina and especially to the Highlands. I was a bit under the [...]
Christmas Day is usually spent doing other things with people. My family has Christmas on Christmas Eve and now that mother is older, she wants to rest. While that doesn't make sense to me, it does to her. I was invited to a friend's house for lunch and found myself in the middle of two [...]
The Marietta Square is dressed up for Christmas. Everywhere you look it is Christmas. One of the things I love about being in this city is how people are out at night. Decorating the tree in Toccoa. It is odd how both houses feel like home now. Pat and Anne enjoy coffee in Clayton last Saturday. It was fun to relax in this little coffee shop. A Christmas mouse! Yikes1 Mittens! Some little kitten lost her mittens! These little guys need a home! Merry Christmas!! For some [...]
For years, I have decorated my Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. I don't know what started this tradition, but I think it began when I was a child. Mom and Dad always wanted to have our tree up as long as possible. My Dad was a kid at heart. So this year was no [...]
I held my breath when I took these photos. Yes, I had a slightly longer lens but it was not that long and I knew the horses were watching me. I was caught up in their eyes . . . the eyes behind the wild and unkept manes. The horse above this one is not [...]
