Something old but something newly uncovered. Last year we thinned out some of the woods in an area that has not seen sunlight for a very long time. This spring these Daffodils started coming up. This one is called Sound and was bred in Holland by Karel van der Veek. The Web says, “It is a daffodil that really shows off, a floriferous beauty with pure white petals and a ruffled yellow cup that takes on variable shades of orange at the rim. It is lightly fragrant, and great for cheering up your spring garden or brightening an entire hillside.” The area we cleared out has been a place of welcome to visitors for well over 100 years. I doubt that anyone actually planted these flowers because they are in a wooded area. So, we’ll just say that they are “naturalized!”
