One of the fun things about being in the mountains is getting to go to various shops that are all dressed up for Christmas. The door pictured above is on the front of an old log cabin—thus the writing over the door. I have a feeling this is going to be a good Christmas. I believe this because this past year has been so difficult for so many people.

Hard times, if our hearts of soft and open, force us to step back and consider the things that mean the most: faith, family, and friends. These are candles of hope that will not go out. Years ago Arthur Gorden wrote, “There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of one small candle.” That pretty much sums it all up.
