I just had to post one photo from this weekend’s trip to the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. This was taken at Newfound Gap in the late afternoon. It seems that it is always windy at the gap, or at least whenever I’m there it is. And there are always clouds—lots of clouds. Dead center in this photo is the gap and also the road that was cut through it.

I’m tossing one in of Cocoa Joy because after all this is her Web site. She makes all the photographic decisions and plays in photoshop endlessly. She also uses Nikon cameras but likes to travel light so she is not worried about carrying lots of gear. In fact, if there is a choice between a bag full of dog treats and an extra camera lens, she will leave the extra lens behind at home every time.
