Annie’s Hometown

Just some quick scenes taken around Ocala, Florida, early last week for my friend Annie, who grew up in the area. I hope she remembers some of what is here.

I thought this old building had that “traditional Spanish” influence Florida is famous for.

Just a street shot to let Ann see the “small” town changes that have taken place since she was a little girl.

I have a feeling that this was definitely not a Starbucks when she and her sisters came into the city.

A really clean and friendly city square. It seems that many cities have some colorful animal they put out in predominate place. In Ocala, of course, it is a horse. This part of Florida is known for raising thorobred horses.

Another section of the city square.

Here’s the city’s main theater where Ann and her sisters would see the latest movies for a few cents and some well-saved bottle caps!

The ticket booth: does it look the same? Did tiny little hands drop small coins through the slot below the window?

Finally, another original building that I thought she might remember.
