Happy! I knew rain was barreling down on us so I dashed the dogs out the door for a walk before it hit on Sunday. We drove over and down to Watson Mill Bridge State Park. We had been there before but all of us ended up slipping and falling into the water because the rocks were so slick. News flash: the rocks continue to be slick even with Keens on but we managed to stay upright and still got our toes wet.
There are several overlooks, which are perfect for the dogs, but I really don’t think they care too much. Still I think the overlooks are pretty cool.
The covered bridge that is an icon for this area is in the background. It was built in 1885 and was 236 feet long. When it was moved to its present location the bridge was shortened slightly to 229 feet. It remains the longest covered bridge in the state of Georgia and one of the longest in the United States. Cocoa gives this place four paws. She likes it a lot but really loves the hikes in the mountains that lead to fast-flowing water falls.
