CocoaJoy

After a two-mile walk, Cocoa Joy wanted to stop for a quick water break. When she’s with me, I can’t pause long enough to take too many photos. She likes to check out every side path along the trail we are traveling.

Sweetwater Creek is a peaceful deeply wooded wilderness located only minutes from downtown Atlanta. The state park has several “moderate” walking trails that wind alongside the banks of the river.

ManchesterFactory

This is part of the wall that is left of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill that was burned down during the Civil War. The state just renovated and restored these ruins in an effort to preserve the structure. Beyond the mill, the trail climbs rocky bluffs and provides views of a mile-long stretch of white-water rapids. Due to the heat, we did not walk that part of the trail today.
