Misty Mountain Streams

Magically, it is winter and the trout streams are filled with fair-headed anglers.

I don’t think I could ever move back to the city—not after living here. This past Sunday I grabbed a cup of coffee, the dogs, and took a long drive along Highway 197. Suddenly, I was in a wonderful, misty place.

The Beginning . . . .

C. S. Lewis wrote, “What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth and they share it.” The members of my church have been such a blessing. Last night we gathered to decorate this year’s Christmon tree. Once it was lite, we sang Christmas Carols. It was a perfect way to begin the Christmas season.

Falling Leaves

We are still experiencing the wonderful colors of fall! This weekend I found a quiet mountain road to travel down just off Bendin’ Hickory. I stopped long enough to be showered with yellow leaves and actually “caught one” on the camera.

A Different World

When I lived in Atlanta, I loved to go to Kennesaw Mountain on Sunday afternoon with Cocoa. There was always plenty of people there to remind me that I was in the city. But it is much different here. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago at Camp Mikell where many of us go for a quick hiking retreat. When you are there and when you walk out into the woods, you are reminded that you are definitely not near a city. It is a world unto its own.
