What is it about a sunny afternoon, a student on a college campus, and a hammock that makes life seem so simple?

The ice continues to build at the base of Toccoa Falls and the view just gets more awe inspiring.

After seeing the circle in the ice in the above photo, a friend told me that it was Tolkien’s Ring. I said, “Ring? It’s a circle.” If you look closely, you’ll notice that there is another one off to the side. It’s just not as pronounced. I have no idea how this “ring” was created in the ice covering the stream that flows away from the base of Toccoa Falls. My guess would be that it was created by the current. It seems perfect; and while the ice was solid in places, there was no way someone could stand on it and carve a circle! A mystery, indeed. Who knows, maybe it is Tolkien’s ring after all.

I took this photo while standing in the middle of the frozen stream that runs away from the base of Toccoa Falls. Black ice was on the rocks. But I found a few that were not covered and they provided safe passage to a place with a great view. Now, I just need a great big red bow so I could wrap this up and send it out as a special Christmas gift to friends.
