Full Bloom in Atlanta

daffy2

I have seen a lot of daffodils, but these are new to me. While visiting the Atlanta Botantical Gardens last Friday, I saw these guys and thought they were really sweet. . . . or something like that.

Afternoon in The City

A friend said these sort of look like something that was taken over in England, and I almost have to agree. Today was overcast but bright and bright can be hard to photograph at times. Instead of being taken across the “pond,” these were taken at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Atlanta’s skyline is in the background of this photo.

Strummin’ Around

Cocoa’s Momma hits the stage! There’s always enough time to break away from the pace of the convention to sing a few songs at the Grand Ole Opry.

View from The North Shore

northshore

Yesterday’s drive up to Nashville was punctuated with a stop over in Chattanooga for a cup of coffee at a section of the city called the North Shore. It is on the northern side of the Tennessee River. The pedestrian bridge that spans the river is in the background. Cocoa Joy could not make the trip with me so she informed me that she wanted to stay with Bronson!

I said, “No Way! You’re not staying alone with your boyfriend.” Sandy, Cocoa’s trainer and Bronson’s Momma spoke up and said Cocoa could stay, and she would watch out for them. “Okay,” I said giving in, “but no hugs and kisses unsupervised.”

Neighborhood Camellia

opals1

Every year about this time, I walk down the street to Opal’s house and take photos of the blooms on the same Camellia bush. I love the shape and the intensity of their color! It’s also the same type of Camellia located near the grave of Eugenia Price on St. Simons Island. She was a really neat lady, a wonderful author, and someone I had the opportunity to know via hand-written letters. I remember once she told me “Don’t hurry God. He has a plan in all of this.” It was good advice then, as it is now.
