You Win Some And You Lose Some

One rainy day in a kingdom very near here, the fair Princess Cocoa Joy woke up from a perfectly lovely nap and realized she was alone. And suddenly, meeting the young handsome Prince Chipley did not seem like such a bad idea.

Slowly and softly, Chipley moved closer to the fair maiden. Would she smile if he said hello?

Well, she didn’t necessarily smile, but she certainly did not turn away either. Being anxious to make a good impression, Chipley offered his greatest gift. He said, “Fair Princess, I offer you the keys to my heart, and I believe they have a distinctive ham bone scent. Mmmmm.”

Suddenly, we were together. Just like it was meant to be.

For a  very few moments, we were the best of friends—just hanging out together . . . .

Until, I began flipping around with too much charm and finesse. Then it happened. I did something that was totally out of character for a young Prince, I bit the beautiful Princess. And though it was just a teeny, tiny play bite, the damage had been done and . . . .

Alas, I was alone again. Drat, drat and double drat! Just as quickly as she came, she was gone. And I was left to whimper and imagine how it might have been . . . . I just have to find a way to capture the Princess’s heart.

“  To be continued . . . .

Sir Chipley

Chipley made it through his first day at Dog School 101. Even though he is just ten weeks old, he is not too young to spend the day with his trainers Sandy and Xalina and to meet his stiffest competition Prince Bronson, who up to this point still owns Princess Cocoa Joy’s heart. Why did he risk life and limb by venturing into the world of grown up dogs and humans, who oogled over his every move? There is only one reason: to learn a new way to win the fair maiden’s heart. Can he do it? Will there be a way for him to edge out the handsome and richly endowed Bronson? Prince Chipley believes he can, and he is willing to wager a week’s worth of puppy chow to prove it. . . . Did he say a “week’s worth”? Well, maybe, just a day’s worth would be better.

Time Out in The Doggy Poky

My poor Cocoa. All of a sudden, Chip is growing. Notice his little blue lead in this photo. Sandy (Dog School 101) suggested that he wear it so he can be grabbed quickly whenever he decides to go after the cat. This little caper (above) landed him in his “den” for a few minutes of time out (below). He has a lot of “heart and guts” for a puppy his size.

Cocoa quickly reminds Chip that she is “lead dog.”

His first real burst of puppy frustration landed him in the “doggy poky” for a little “time out”. So, when it comes to winning the princess’s heart, it’s back to the drawing board!

Just A Storybook Tail

Prince Chipley grabs the dragon’s tail after slaying the beast with vim and vigor in hopes of winning the fair princess’s heart.

notimpressed

But even after he explained how he had risked his own life in order to protect and save hers, the princess seemed utterly unimpressed.

What can a baby Cocker Spaniel do? “I just have to win the fair Princess’s heart,” sighed Chipley as he drifted off to sleep.
