Snow on Sunset Rock!

Snow on Sunset Rock!

We discovered this area several years ago and have walked the dogs here often. It offers just a little taste of what hiking near Highlands, NC, can be like.

I can’t resist photographing benches but the angle is not the best on this one. It was cold! The wind was blowing and Beth had disappeared over a rocky ledge! Yikes! Basically, I was distracted!

Here comes Beth back with her camera. The white on the rocks is snow and sleet. I love being in this area. We can easily drive to North Carolina and enjoy weather like this and then return to Toccoa.

The pathway actually leads up a slight rocky face and looks out over the Highlands below. This area is called Sunset Rock but there was no sunset on this day—just a cold, hard wind with snow.
