Back-Packed And Ready to Go

Backpacks

I walked into our first chapel this morning and was greeted by a sea of backpacks all left behind by those who had entered the auditorium where the college president was preparing to deliver his first message for the new school year.

Friday Photo from England

This was taken at Windsor Castle last year, and I thought my Friday group of viewers would enjoy it. It’s a world away from where I am now. But it is still not too far to visit mentally . . . every once in a while. Lewis wrote: “Why is it that one can never think of the past without wanting to go back?” What an interesting thought. . . . Dear England, the thought of you makes me smile and sigh a little.

Little Miss Wiggley

I wanted to let Miss J’s mom see how easy photography can be with a Nikon. (She’s already taken some really nice photos aside from having a DSLR.) But guess who didn’t want to sit still for us? You got it. . . . And guess who wanted to  zoom off to the grassy area near the center of campus? Right again. But we still took her photo! Ha! (see below) Actually, all three of us are in the one above.

Okay, Mom and Dad, I imagine her in this very spot fifteen years from now. But I probably can’t imagine me being with her!!!

Sundown

Sundown

At least once a week, I go to the downtown area to get a small cup of ice cream. Of course, Cocoa can’t wait to get her share. I’ve noticed lately there are always pigeons flying over head. Whenever a jogger or someone walking gets near them, they fly off and circle the buildings before landing and settling again. It is just a kind of relaxing time of the day for me and for her.

Soccer @ TFC!

I walked out on the soccer field this morning (in flip flops — smiling) just to try to get a handle on how to photograph sports again. It has been awhile since I have been on any sports field. But I need to get photos put on our flickr site for the students to view. So, here’s my first one. . . . Somehow, I sense “Coach Anaya” just shaking his head: a photograph of one sock up and one sock down. Don’t worry. I took photos of the other players and even the “goal guy.” More a little later. I added the one below because it was just too fun to leave out.
