Last Saturday, we were on top of Stone Mountain when a summer storm began to approach. We had watched it as it swept through the northside of Atlanta and then it headed east to the “big rock.” It was beautiful. We managed to get on the last cable car leaving the top of the mountain. However, others in our group did not get down for three hours due to the stormy conditions.

F.B. Meyer writes, “A storm is only as the outskirts of His robe, the symptom His advent, the environment of His presence.” The very things that drive us to God in prayer are the very things that also draw us close to Him.

Some of the things you hear in life just leave you speechless. Johanna is having one of those moments—speechless.

It takes courage to walk with God through times of adversity. Many times, we can’t see where we are going, and we don’t know how to take the next step. That’s okay. He knows, and He has promised to show us the right way . . . when we trust Him.

George Matheson wrote, “Be willing to be only a voice, heard but not seen; a mirror whose surface is lost to view, because it reflects the dazzling glory of the sun; a breeze that springs up just before daylight, and says, ‘The dawn! The dawn!’ and then dies away. I shall be satisfied if no great mausoleum is raised over my grave, but that simple souls shall gather there when I am gone and say, ‘He was a good man; he wrought no miracles, but he spake words about Christ, which led me to know Him for myself.’”
