Cocker Spaniels love to “flush” birds out of ground cover and my dog Cocoa Joy is pure Cocker through and through. The other morning while I was photographing Spring flowers in the back yard, I noticed that she was watching a family of Blue Birds in a near-by wild honeysuckle bush. The birds return each year and end up having at least three brews by the end of each May. They have very little concern for Cocoa and have never altered their daily routine because of her presence.

God does amazing things. Sometimes He pulls back the curtain to His glory just a little more so we can enjoy the goodness of His presence. This was taken very early one morning. I only has a few seconds to snap this photograph of the moon through the trees. Then suddenly, everything changed as sunlight flooded the scene.

The other morning Cocoa Joy discovered my unattended cereal bowl and . . . .

There are times when this dog actually smiles. There is a story behind this photo but it is way too long to write about here. It is probably sufficient enough to say, she looks happy and is—even though no dog treats were the motivation for this photo .
